Synopsis: It's been 4 years since the Chicago tragedy and mankind continues to repair the wreckage, but both Autobots and Decepticons have disappeared from the face of Earth. Now the United States Government is using the technology rescued in the siege of Chicago to develop their own Transformers. At the head of the project is Joshua Joyce (Stanley Tucci), an arrogant designer who thinks the Autobots are "technological junk" and thinks he can build infinitely more advanced robots. Meanwhile, Cade Yeager (Mark Wahlberg), a mechanical inventor, finds a Marmon semi-trailer. When trying to repair it, he discovers that the truck was not only a Transformer, but also the very Optimus Prime, leader of the Autobots. What Cade does not know are the consequences that can be derived from this finding.
